8 Day Johannesburg to Kruger to Coast (Mozambique)

On a safe trip we travel down the panoramic route, best known for its cultural heritage, and its dramatic landscapes, also host to some of the best adrenalin enhancing adventures. We enter the Kruger national park which is the largest game reserve in Africa, home to an impressive number of wildlife species, mammals e.g. After enough game viewing , we travel to Xai-Xai ,in Mozambique, capital of Gaza province. Xai- Xai also known as a popular tourist destination with its long sweeping beaches, a reef running parallel to the shore that offers good snorkeling; fresh water lakes for paddle, skiing e.g.Then we hit the road back to the cement jungle of Johannesburg.

Day 1
Pick you up from OR Tambo International Airport or your nearby lodge /hotel at 05h00. We travel through Mpumalanga, “the place where the sun rises”, a province with spectacular scenic beauty and abundance of wildlife, lying in the Northeast of South Africa. We will stop en-route for breakfast(own expense). After breakfast, we make our way on the panoramic route through Orichstad and Lydenburg to Three Rondawels. We will quickly book into our lodge in the Blyde River Canyon, the only green and the third largest canyon in the world, and have lunch. (Own expense). After lunch, we visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes, a series of natural geological formations that seem nearer to art than nature. At our return from the potholes, we will have dinner together.(Dinner)

Day 2
Up at 06h00, so that we can have breakfast at 07h00, before leaving at 08h00 on the panoramic route. This forms part of the Blyde river canyon, where some of the oldest rocks in the world are exposed in this area, and this includes rare sights such as two Tufa waterfalls. Five of the South African Veld types occur in this area namely the Sour Montane Grassland, Subtropical Rain Forest, Riparian Forest, Sour Bush-veld, and Mixed bush-veld. Here we will visit some waterfalls and God’s window before we will have lunch in Graskop. After lunch, we will make our way via Kowyns pass to Orpen gate where we will enter the world- renowned Kruger National Park. On arrival at our camp we will book in and later on enjoy a hearty dinner, before we go on an open vehicle night game drive with park rangers.(Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3
Up at 05h00 leaving the camp as soon as the gates open, and see if we can spot the early morning activities of the Big Five, making our way towards Tshokwane picnic spot where we will have breakfast in the open. After breakfast we make our way still game driving on some of the best roads towards Lower Sabie. This area attracts large numbers of game, and is abundant in cheetah, lion, elephants, hippos, rhino and large herds of buffalo. Here we will book in and enjoy a nice lunch. The afternoon we will go on a sunset game drive with rangers of the park. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4
Up at 06h00, to have breakfast at 07h00. We leave Lower Sabie at 08h30 via Crocodile Bridge, and make our way to Lebombo Border Post and into Mozambique. We will stop en- route for lunch.(Own expense) From here, we will make our way to Xai-Xai one of the most picturesque areas in Mozambique, with spectacular views of pristine beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. We will book in and make our bookings for the optional activities of the next day. These activities include snorkeling, fishing, scuba diving, jet sky, whale watching and many more. Day 5
This day will be spending on our own leisure after breakfast. This popular destination has the world in its oyster. The massive reef running parallel to the beach provides natural protection against the strong waves at high tide, and forms several small pools at low tide. Snorkeling and diving are such much enjoyed during low tide. We will get together later that evening for dinner. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 6
This day is to be spent at our own leisure after breakfast. Mozambique is one of Southern Africa’s best- kept secrets. White sand beaches and azure Indian Ocean combine to offer one of the world’s unspoiled seaside holidays. After a long day of excitement on the beach, we will relax with a hearty dinner.(Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 7
After breakfast, we will be on the road again to our next destination, Komatipoort. We will enjoy a lunch in town before we book in. We will relax around the swimming pool for the afternoon. This evening we will enjoy our last dinner together(Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8
Up at 06h00, leaving Komatipoort at 07h00 through the beautiful low-veld, to the highlands of Mpumalanga. We will stop for an en- route brunch before we continue into our last stretch to Johannesburg, where we will arrive at about 18h00 to say our goodbyes.(Brunch)
