Wildlife and scenery
Pick you up from OR Tambo International Airport or your nearby lodge/ hotel at 05h00. We travel through Mpumalanga, “the place where the sun rises” – a beautiful province with spectacular scenic and abundance of wildlife. We will stop en-route for breakfast (own expense) on our way through Orichstad and Lydenburg to Three Rondawels. We will quickly book into our lodge in the Blyde River Canyon, the only green and the third largest canyon in the world, and have lunch. (Own expense). After lunch we visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes, a series of natural geological formations that seem nearer to art than nature. At our return from the potholes, we will have dinner together. (Dinner)
An early rise, as we have breakfast at 07h00 and leaving our lodge at 08h00. We travel via the Strydom Tunnel to Phalaborwa, which is the home to the largest open cast mine in the world. Here we will visit the Amarula lapa, for the now world-famous liquor of Africa. Tastings can be done optionally. From here we travel to Phalaborwa Gate, and into Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Africa .We make our way to Letaba Rest camp for lunch and a visit to the famous Elephant Museum. We will still try to spot more wildlife on our way to Satara, where we will have some dinner and overnight. Here we will do our first open vehicle night drive with rangers from the park.
We will leave as soon as the gates open, and head straight into prime game viewing areas where we hope to catch a glimpse of some of the amazing animals found here. We will enjoy breakfast in the open before making our way to one of the best sites in Kruger, because of the great quantity of water and the sweet grass. It attracts large numbers of game, which cannot be found anywhere else in the Park. The area is abundant in cheetah, lion, elephants, hippopotamus, herds of buffalo and many more. Here we will have lunch and then make our way to the main camp of Kruger where we will go on an open vehicle sunset drive with rangers of the Park. On your return we will enjoy dinner.(Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)
Up at 05h00 and leaving as soon as the gates open, to make our way to Malelane Gate where we will exit the Kruger National Park. We work our way to Schoemanskloof where we will have brunch. From here we go on to the urban wilds of Johannesburg where we will say our goodbyes at about 16h00, at OR Tambo International Airport or your lodge/ hotel nearby.
